Welcome to Class RY

Mrs Young and Mrs Gibbon

In class RY we aim to provide a happy, challenging learning environment where the children can work together to become enthusiastic, resilient and thoughtful students. We support the children to develop independence and take responsibility for their actions and learning. We develop the foundations on which the rest of their education will stand and we feel very proud to share such an important part of the children's educational journey.

Thank you so much for your milk bottle donations- we now have enough! Please do not send anymore in. Thank you.

Things to remember...... Book changes- Reading books on Monday and Friday (not all children have books yet)- Library books on Wednesday..... PE Day- Thursday- PE kits need to be kept in school. Having now changed for P.E. it has become apparent that the children might need a little support to know in which order their clothes need to be put on, underwear and shoes only doesn't work!!!! ....... Our class bear is called Simon, your child will bring him home when they have had a particularly good day, we are trying to encourage patience as we have 30 children and Simon is just 1 bear, we are not far off him going to everyone now, when he does come home please bring him back the following day.......

A quick reminder......... Reading books need to be returned on Monday and Friday. Please make sure you return them, we are running low on books. Blue high frequency word books must be in school daily. We will practice with the children whenever we have a spare minute.

Talk for Writing

Our second talk for writing text is 'The little Red Hen'.

Talk for writing

Our first talk for writing text was 'How to catch a star' by Oliver Jeffers.

The children learnt an adapted version of the story with actions and performed it for the video. Enjoy.

The children have been learning......
