Handa's Hen

Lesson: EYFS

Nursery's current Talk for Writing book is Handa's Hen. We have enjoyed listening to and re-telling the story, acting it out in the small world area and using it to help us count.

Imagine our surprise when Miss. Bermingham said she was bringing in some real chickens on Monday morning to show Reception. We had a little peep and found she had brought 4 hens, one of them looked just like Mondi, the hen in the story. Some of us were brave and even had a stroke of Barbara the hen! The other two were called Cilla and Wilma, Wilma lays blue eggs and we got to have a close up look at them too.
