Making Soup with Mrs Tatham

We were very excited to have Mrs Tatham back in nursery to do some cooking, this time we made 3 different soups. We looked at lots of different herbs and vegetables, learned their names and used our senses to explore them.

We also practised our cutting skills, being very careful when using the knife. We learned that when we cut a mushroom we should make a ‘bridge’ shape over the mushroom with our hand and cut the mushroom inside the bridge. After we had chopped the vegetables we got to try one of the soups; minestrone, mushroom or sweet potato. They were delicious and we all learned a lot by making them!
